Grilled Tandoori-Style Chicken

  • 2 T. paprika
  • 4 t. cumin
  • 1 T. salt
  • 2 t. curry powder
  • 2 t. turmeric
  • 1/4 t. cayenne
  • small handful of fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, crushed
  • juice of 2 lemons
  • 2 T. olive oil
  • 1/2 cup full fat Greek yogurt
  • 3 to 4 lbs. chicken breasts, cut into smaller pieces



  1. Combine spices, cilantro, garlic, lemon, olive oil, and yogurt in a large bowl with a cover; stir well. Add chicken pieces; cut them bite size if using skewers, or cut them into larger pieces if you place them directly on the grill. Marinate about 4 hours or more, if able.
  2. Grill over medium heat; flip and grill until cooked through. (Time depends on size of chicken pieces.)

This chicken is delicious served with Cucumber Raita, coconut rice, and a simple salad. Turn leftover chicken and cucumber raita into Tandoori-Style Chicken, Avocado and Mango Salad.
