Equipment

  • Sheet Pan

Ingredients

  • 1 pound bacon uncooked

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400. Line bacon strips on two jelly roll sheet pans (the sides are needed to catch the bacon grease).
  • Bake both pans in oven for about 20 to 30 minutes, depending on thickness. Check at 20 minutes and return to oven until cooked to desired color and crispiness is achieved.

Notes

Bacon keeps well in the refrigerator for up to a week. Or you may freeze cooked bacon slices until needed. From fridge or freezer, simply reheat a few pieces on a paper towel-lined plate in the microwave for 1 minute and the bacon's crisp returns like magic!
You may never cook bacon in a frying pan or skillet again! Baking bacon keeps the grease contained and is easy to clean up with aluminium jelly roll pans. (After removing bacon to a paper towel-lined plate, pour the grease from the pan into the trash or a container to collect it; once the pan is cool, fill it with hot water and soak for 5 minutes and then the bits wash right off.)
